Hymns to the silence

In a silent way

I go about my life now

in a silent way.

Its not that I can’t talk.

I can, actually!

And I might do it at length,

if the occasion calls for a sharing.

But actually, I prefer to be quiet for most of my days.

And I don’t need a vow of silence for that.

I don’t need to go to a remote place.

No monk’s cell is really needed.

No cave in the Himalayas.

I don’t even need to be alone to be in a silent way.

Most of all I love to share my quietness,

with another quiet mind.

I can live in a silent way,

because I live with a quiet mind.

A trained mind, a open mind, a curious one.

A perceptive one and attentive one, a reflective mind.

A fine tuned antenna of nerve cells, a network of synapses.

A awesome intelligence of pattern recognition.

And meaning making.

And understanding.

My radio receiver of the higher broadcasts.

My faithful translator, interpreter.

My creative powerhouse.

What can I say about the wonder of my brain/mind?

It works best when it is absolutely still and open.

No self indulgence, no chatting.

No jumping around.

Just focus.

Then oneness is all there is.

Consciousness is all there is.

Naturally flowing, ever expanding, all embracing.

Then I live in wonder.

In a silent way.

Being.
