Well … i did not even have to apply for staying longer in Pacha Mama.
This morning, a representative of the inner circle of Pacha Mama took me aside very discretely and asked me to leave the place.
To my shocked surprise.
And with not much of a real explanation they expelled me.
This very nice man that i always liked as a brother did not manage to tell me specifically what was considered my sin(s).
Just that some people are not comfortable with me around, some are even afraid of me! (???)
And it turned out Tyohar, the leader does not like the questions and serious interests in the inner workings of the community that i clearly and publicly expressed from the beginning.
He thinks that i do not fit here.
They gave me 5 hrs to pack and leave the same day.
Also “requested” was that i don’t tell people that i “was asked to leave”.
I should rather go silently or say that i decided to go.
Ufff!
!!#$%ˆ
What to say to that?
Everything i spotted in the first of Tyohar’s public talks – Satsang (company of truth) – and then expressed in a letter to him actually manifested.
– “They” observed me somehow from behind the scene and judged over me in some backroom without even asking me anything, without a dialogue or even giving me a chance to tell my part of the story.
– They seem to believe Pacha Mama is a one-way-street. As Tyohar said repeatedly: “We don’t change, you are here to change”. And in that way deflect any opinion, feedback and such as resistance, as critique , as not ready yet.
They act totally opaque, no transparency that i can see. I have no idea who is “they” or if only Tyohar decides things.
As one member said: This is a one-man-majority-democracy (Osho said this of himself and his communes in the old days)
Well, i could go on into the details, but now i am already back in Samara.
In my tent on the beach, because they did not care that i had no money left at this point.
Pacha Mama is expensive even for work-exchanger
But in many ways the community also deserves all the money they ask for.
It is still a great community:
– if you are a follower of Tyohar
if you are no follower of him but have a lot of money to buy/build your own house on the outskirts of PM.
– if you are there as a guest to participate in one of the really good Sanyas style workshops
– if you are a young, mostly uncritical and somehow spiritually interested seeker
– if you are a person with life experience and open eyes but can shut your mouth or talk politically correct ; D
Ok … obviously i don’t really fall into any of those categories.
And if Tyohar reads my words here i am most probably expelled for life, who knows.
It is not my intention to stir up things or disturb the “peace” there.
I am still really thankful for the good time i had there, for the Spirit & many details of the place.
For the friends i made, people who allowed me to come close.
For the daily silent evening sitting in the Osho hall, together with the whole community.
For the great 10 day silent retreat that i enjoyed a lot.
Muchos Gracias Pacha Mama
It is what it is
we will see what we will see
After all:
I might not have much
but i always have my INTEGRITY
As Bob (Dylan) said it:
“. . . may you always be courageous
stand upright
and be strong
may you stay
forever young . . . ”
Interesting, I am researching Pachamama, If you could share with me what you expressed to Tyohar in the letter I would be appreciative, I have a close friend there now, she has been there since February and has seemed to have dropped the earth.
Considering attending the fall for the transformation cycle
Best Wishes
Steven
Hi Steven. I will answer you by email.
Hallo Cris, I went to a satsang of Tyohar, in around 1998, somewhere in Northern India and stood up and shouted at him to “stop impersonating Osho!!” he asked me to leave. I have noticed that in Pune in 1998 there was a few different people offering satsang, claiming enlightenment. I think they just saw Pune and Oshos energy field as a quick hustle and a very easy way to trick slot of gullible seekers on the path into parting with large sums of if not all of their money. None of these people like Tyohar would have dared claim to be enlightened when beloved Osho was still in the body. Nobody who lived and imbibed the fragrance of a real enlightened master Osho with all of his great love for his people and his incredible intelligence would have fell for that kind of scam i.e “I’m enlightened, now hand over all of your money, keep quiet, don’t rock the boat and above all don’t ruin my bogus Enlightenment Image/facade by asking probing and intelligent questions…..”
Hola Amano
Thanks for your comment.
Ya, very much agree with what you say.
I also want to add that i still appreciate what Tyohar & his “devotees” have built here in Costa Rica and how they run it.
On the level of “seminar place” it’s working very well and high quality, no doubt.
It’s just when you come into the inner circle or in direct confrontation with Mr T. that things get … real ; )
Anyway, i live just next town away from them (Samara) since 8 years but i never had an impulse to come back there.
Although i really dig the architecture and high quality food ; )
And miss intentional community living here in my beloved fisherman’s village.
I am a “Auroville person”.
Anyway, best for you.
Tell me about yourself if you want.

Dear Chris thx for you honest and fair account of pachamama and Tyohar. I have young family members planning on living there for 10 months as work-exchangers and am a bit concerned since they are not critical thinkers. Please share with me your concerns and what you expressed to Tyohar. It would be greatly appreciated. Thx much
Hi Michael, obviously it has already been a while now that i was living in Pacha Mama. But i will gladly share my perceptions with you in a personal email in the next few days.
Hi Cris,
I also have a young family member planning a visit. I would appreciate your feedback as well. Thank you very much.
Hi Lisa, please write me ([email protected]) more specifically what’s the situation, than i can share more.
Cris
Interesting.
I always felt the community was a bit stunted by their dependency upon psychedelic drugs and ‘medicines’.
One time at a retreat in Mahabaleshwar an young Scottish guy “took the final step off the cliff” that Tyohar speaks of literally and fell to his physical death. He was clearly in some psychedelic process…..
So many red flags about this place. Looks to be many parallels to the Osho community, Humanivetsity in Holland etc. Having had parents who followed Osho since I was a kid and now having children of my own, I’m now realising that what felt off was off for real. Going to therapy and educating myself about cults, reading biographies and peoples experience have made things fall into place.
If you question or criticise because something doesn’t feel right or you don’t want to do something that crosses your boundaries you’re told that you’re not spiritually evolved enough, not ready, not surrendered enough etc. Classic manipulation and spiritual abuse used all the time in Osho centres.
Hi Lori
I appreciate that you contribute and speak from your experience.
It sure can be a pain in the ass to have parents who are deeply involved with a spiritual leader / group.
As a insider of such a group it can be really hard to speak up and confront unhealthy in-group dynamics.
But that is crucially important in order to “save” the valuable aspects that such spiritual groups definitely have.
Obviously you have found your voice.
Speak it.
Cris
