Lockdown, another lockdown

These are truly unprecedented times

times that make us think

what is real for us

and what is not

there is strength

in silence

there is power

in staying still

there is answer

in letting-go

Freedom?

Yes, “freedom!” the people chant

at demonstrations

not knowing

what it means

Freedom to be against authority?

Freedom from The State and its responsibility to ensure the wellbeing of its citizens?

Freedom to let The Virus mutate & mutate some more?

Freedom to disrupt and confuse?

Freedom to spread lies?

The Virus does not care

this way or the other

for or against

it does not care

it just marches on

it takes over like a ghost

it prevails

it will be with us for long

a sure  sign of things to come

people! if we are not willing to unite

we’ll have it!

sometimes, in times of danger

the wellbeing of the whole must be considered

before the freedom of the individual

that is freedom

This ocean

This ocean is like soul

deep and mysterious

un-knowable for land animals

for us mortal personas

We see only the waves

the surface, the horizon

we can not comprehend

its depths

the whole gestalt

If ocean is soul

then water is spirit

Like Atman and Brahman

the Vedic scriptures would say

This Ocean of Life – All That Is – is so vast

all-transcending

it will always be, trans-forming

and we are just …

a blink of an eye
