the sea, this ocean

the sea

it gives me joy

and calm every time I see it

this ocean, so flat 

(never mind the waves)

it stretches on and on

until the horizon

and then

(when I am there ;  )

It stretches further on

again and again

this ocean, so deep

mysterious, un-knowable

we only see the waves, the surface

another horizon

but hey! let’s not forget:

the nature of the ocean

its essence

is water

just like that to me

is Consciousness

we see its multitudinous manifestations

we may sense its endless levels and dimensions

we might even jump in and dive

to experience its depth 

but lets always remember

its nature and essence  

is God
