Who is this girl, this Alice in Wonderland?

I asked the chatGPT AI to give me the answer:

Hi dear ChatGPT ;  ) i have a question for you.

Please give me a synopsis of the story of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by  Lewis Carroll

Certainly!

“Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” is a novel by Lewis Carroll published in 1865. The story follows a young girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world filled with talking animals, bizarre characters, and nonsensical situations. Here’s a brief synopsis:

Alice is sitting with her sister when she sees a rabbit run by, wearing a waistcoat and muttering to himself about being late. Alice follows the rabbit down a rabbit hole, and finds herself in a strange room with doors leading to different sizes of corridors. She drinks a potion that makes her small enough to fit through one of the doors, and then grows too large to fit through another. She meets the Cheshire Cat, who appears and disappears at will, and the Mad Hatter and March Hare, who are perpetually stuck at tea-time.

Alice plays a game of croquet with the Queen of Hearts, who is quick to order executions for anyone who displeases her. Alice also encounters a Duchess with a baby that turns into a pig, and a Gryphon and Mock Turtle who tell her strange stories. The book ends with Alice on trial for an unspecified crime, but she ultimately wakes up from the dream world and realizes it was all just a wild fantasy.

Throughout the story, Alice navigates the illogical and absurd situations of Wonderland, attempting to make sense of the nonsense around her. The novel has been celebrated for its wordplay, whimsical characters, and imaginative world-building, and has become a beloved classic of children’s literature.

And what's the meaning of the rabbit hole?

“The rabbit hole” has come to mean a metaphorical journey of self-discovery or exploration, often used to describe the process of uncovering or learning something new, unusual, or unexpected.

The origin of this phrase comes from Lewis Carroll’s novel “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” in which Alice falls down a rabbit hole and enters a strange, surreal world. In the novel, the rabbit hole represents a portal to an alternate reality, a symbol of a journey of discovery.

Since the publication of the novel, “going down the rabbit hole” has become a common expression for diving into a complex topic or delving into the unknown. It is often used to describe a journey of self-discovery, a process of exploring the depths of one’s own mind, beliefs, or desires.

Overall, the general opinion of the meaning of “the rabbit hole” is that it represents a journey of discovery, often unexpected or strange, that leads to new insights, perspectives, and understandings.

GOIN’ DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE OF SOUNDS AND VISUALS AND INTERACTIVE INSTALLATIONS

I love to make sounds, musical noises with whatever instrument attracts my interest at a moment.
I love sculpturing noise, soundscapes, music like paintings on the wall, such things.
And it seems that fro time to time i stumble upon a new way that lets me do that, a technology that is sophisticated enough to allow me to be flexible and limitless.

I also love visuals.
Colors, animated lines, shapes that move and bend and turn.
And i i manage to let dance to the rhythm and respond to the sounds i make, then i am most satisfied.

In the past i could do that with the help of Flash Actionscript, later with Javascript and Processing and p5.js.
Learning to program such playful intricate pieces has been always a joy and much expansion of my brain’s capacities.

Here are some examples of my nighttime labor of love:

All fun and games and music for your ears

Much (more) fun with sounds

How does music look like

Colors … for the fun of it

Can computers create art?

… and so on ;  )

Now, lately, i have come across two new and awesome technologies that started to intrigue me. And eating away my night-time hours ;  )

The Modular Synthesizer System called VCV Rack.

And the Visual programming environment called TouchDesigner

What is VCV Rack?

VCV Rack is a free open-source virtual modular synthesizer, a software running inside the computer, simulating a hardware based modular synth.
Multiple modules can be connected by “virtual wires” to produce sound.
By default, the software contains several VCOsLFOs, mixers, and other standard synthesizer modules.
However, more can be added as plugins through the VCV Rack website.

What is TouchDesigner?

TouchDesigner is a node based visual programming language for real time interactive multimedia content.
It’s been used by artists, programmers, creative coders, software designers, and performers to create performances, installations, and fixed media works.

Check it out here >> TouchDesigner website

Both Systems are professional grade software and used for life music performances, audio-visual Installations in museums and galleries, interactive art happenings, clubs and such.

Both programs working very well together, the sounds/music can influence any element of the visuals and vice versa – lot of creative fun!!!

Unlike my “old” audio/visual pieces its not possible to put them on a webpage in real time.
So i made little video screen-shares and hope you enjoy some of it.
