I mourn the death of Jamal Khashoggi
he was speaking truth to power
he is dead now
I mourn the disappearance and death of journalists
who tried to uncover the misuse of power
they have been silenced
I mourn the death of six million jewish people
they just were easy scapegoats for power
you know what happened to them
I mourn the absence of ethics and decency in the halls of power
it is a sign of our times, the end of days
we better fear what happens then
I mourn the fact that power seems to go along with corruption too many times
it is a great loss for the world
because power could be
power to do good
for the world
and since i am at it (the mourning)
I mourn the death of coral reefs of the world’s oceans
they can not be replaced
once gone
its over
I mourn the mass extinction of species of the animal and plant kingdom
we humans are the cause of the alarming rate
in which biodiversity is reduced
and our ecosystems
are diminished
I mourn the loss empathy with displaced people
when they have lost their home to war
or tire economic conditions
they have nothing
I mourn the lack of time
that is the signature of the fast paced civilization today
If we don’t take time to think, to reflect and to share our concerns
we will never act as one
we will never save
our world
And what then?

The Symphony No. 3, Op. 36, also known as the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, is a symphony in three movements composed by Henryk Górecki in Katowice, Poland in 1976.
The first and third movements are written from the perspective of a parent who has lost a child, and the second movement from that of a child separated from a parent. The dominant themes of the symphony are motherhood and separation through war.
I feel sad in a very similar way for all the above reasons recently as well.
