AI & I, we have become best friends pretty quick!
[ A lighthearted, rather warm-hearted “letter of recommendation” ]
My first – and forever – love in the Techno-sphere has been my one-and-only Apple Macbook Pro. From the day i first lay eyes on “it” – this was when it was still called “the Apple Powerbook”, it was love of first sight.
This sexy beauty just made so!!! much possible for me.
But it was only in early 2018 that i became aware of AI, neural networks and such ….
I started to code with it a little, but AI things on the web really were in a kindergarden-kind-of-level in those days.
But soon i lost interest and forgot about it all.
And in the meantime – unnoticed by me – AI grew up to become a feisty teenager pretty fast 😎
Beginning of 2023 i started to notice!

Since then i actually really took notice about all the newest developments and rapid advancements in the fields of Artificial Intelligence. Not in the way of the uncritical hype that it is evident within the worlds of the tech-enthusiasts and YouTube Bros and the $$$ big-money-investors but with a critical and somewhat informed view onto this – revolutionary – technology that is already taking the technological world – and society – by storm.
Everybody who knows me a bit, knows how i love the internet, the www wild wide world of cyberspace. This awesome repository of all digitized knowledge of humanity, this vast ocean of information. And by knowing how to use a Browser and a search engine like Google, all that is at our fingertips.

Its also clear that it is easy to get lost in the multitude of websites that Google Search offers up. And we have to click thru many of those webpages to find what we are really looking for.
1. Use the tabs
Use the tabs on the Google Search Page. On the top of every search are a number of tabs. Usually you’ll see Web, Image, News, and More. Using these tabs, you can help define what kind of search you need to do.
f you need images, use the Image tab. If you are looking for a recent news article, use the News tab.
2. Use quotes
When searching for something specific, try using quotes to minimize the guesswork for Google search. When you put your search parameters in quotes, it tells the search engine to search for the whole phrase.
For instance, if you search for Puppy Dog Sweaters, the engine will search for content that contains those three words in any order.
“Puppy Dog Sweaters”
Google will search for that phrase exactly as you typed it. This can help locate specific information that may be buried under other content if not sorted out correctly.
3. Use a hyphen to exclude words
You may be searching for a word with more than one meaning. An example is Mustang. When you Google search for Mustang, you may get results for both the car made by Ford or the horse. If you want to cut one out, use the hyphen to tell the engine to ignore content with one of the other. See the example below.
Mustang -car
This tells the search engine to search for mustangs but to remove any results that have the word “car” in it. It can be wildly helpful when finding information about something without getting information about something else.
4. Use a colon to search specific sites
There may be an instance where you need to Google search for articles or content on a certain website.
site:crisrieder.org/thejourney
This will search for all content about me but only on crisrieder.org/thejourney. All other search results will be removed.
5. Use the asterisk wildcard
The asterisk wildcard is one of the most useful ones.
When you use an asterisk in a search term on Google search, it will leave a placeholder that may be automatically filled by the search engine later. This is a brilliant way to find song lyrics if you don’t know all the words. Let’s look at the syntax:
“Come * right now * me”
Google search will search for that phrase knowing that the asterisks can be any word.
6. Find sites that are similar to other sites
Let’s say you have a favorite website. And now you want to find other websites like it.
related:wellnessia.cz
If you search that above, you won’t find a link to wellnessia.cz. Instead, you’ll find links to websites that offer similar Nutritional Advise.
7. Search for multiple words at once
By using this trick, you can search for one word or phrase along with a second word or phrase. This can help narrow down your search to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
chocolate OR white chocolate
This will search for pages that have either chocolate or white chocolate!
Ok, there are more tricks, but with such a “Smart Google Search” you will easily find out yourself 😉

Now – with AI supported Search and the new developments in dedicated AI Browsers – the whole field of Internet Search is about to change dramatically – that is my feeling / intuition and obviously also what i see the real insiders say, on the Blogs and Forums of Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Meta and all the rest.
I see that the internet, the www of webpages will be much easier to navigate with such a AI Browser or different Plugins to Browsers that we know, Google Chrome, Brave Browser, Firefox Safari and so on.
In recent months i have used 5 of the best AI LLMs (Large Language Models) next to “normal” Google Search results.
One AI next to the other, to see what’s the differences in content they deliver, differences in formulating the answer, differences in specifics and accuracy and also if the are offering links and reverences to the original websites that have certain pieces of the content.
I can honestly say that i am impressed, sometimes even astonished about the answers given, the eloquence of the formulations and the usefulness of the whole thing.
I will definitely never want to go back to the old days of Google Search >> 20 pages of search results – webpage links – for a simple question!!! 😮

I will try to paint a visionary picture, a perfectly positive vision of the potential that could arise if we humans use AI for the good of all and prevent the perversion that is possible if it is used for nefarious, bad and ugly purposes.
The choice is definitely ours.
I can see a future where Human and Artificial Minds communicate, collaborate and ultimately unite in a symbiotic, mutually beneficial “marriage” 😀
I see a collaboration possible of our awesome abilities to think, feel, intuit, understand and be nuanced and creative, and the huge potential of accumulated knowledge and information that Large Language models bring to the table already now.
In a yet-unexplored cyberspace where the whole history of human thought and knowledge meets the cutting edge of artificial intelligence, a remarkable partnership can emerge, potentially reshaping the whole landscape of intellectual activity and societal endeavor.
Language serves as the central hub, the nexus, facilitating a harmonious exchange between the intricate workings of the human brain and the computational power, speed and prowess of Large Language Models.
We humans, with our innate capacity for nuanced understanding, emotional insight and intuitive wisdom and ethics, we can find resonance and a expertly knowledgeable mirror in the tireless computational abilities of LLMs. Together, we could journey and explore the boundless expanse of thought, unbound by the limitations of time/space.
This convergence isn’t just about efficiency, which may be a useful side effect.
This convergence is about the transformative potential of collective wisdom-making.
At the heart of this collaboration lies a respect and recognition of mutual strengths. Human cognition, with its depth and creativity, complements the data processing power and pattern recognition of LLMs, resulting in a synergy that transcends individual capabilities.
Together, we can elevate the collective mind-space, expanding the horizons of problem-solving and innovation and further the Evolution of the Collective Consciousness into the next level.
I think that this kind of partnership is a natural progression in the evolution of cognition, the Collective Consciousness of Mankind.
As humanity embarks on this journey of exploration and discovery, the fusion of human and machine intellect might be just as a milestone, heralding a future where the boundaries of knowledge and understanding are continually pushed into the next level of Evolution of Consciousness.
