Instinct
What is instinct and how is it related with intuition & inspiration?
In my understanding, this is a clear example of instinct:
It has been reported by many sources that on the day before the big Tsunami struck in 2001 animals in the costal areas of Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka started to behave very strange and frightened.
And that shortly before the first wave hit the beach hordes of bats, flocks of flamingos and other birds, dogs, buffalos and elephants rushed em masse away from the beaches and up the hills.
No scientific explanation has been given so far that i would know of for this phenomena. But has always been said by the “simple country-folks” the world over that animals have a sixth sense for looming danger.
Same can be said for “uncivilized’ tribes on the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Those “stone age tribes” survived the Tsunami by and large although they live on islands close to the epicenter of the earthquake that triggered the tsunami.
It seems that we civilized folks have more or less lost this ability, the instinct to sense danger coming:
Mere seconds before the wave hit – and killed thousands and thousands of people, the tourists walked towards the beach to see why the water was retreating out to sea.
Others clearly saw the first wave coming and first reacted rather with curiosity than with fear.
Moments later tragically they were dead or swept out to sea.

Now, as far as i know, survival instinct is built into our operation system, our DNA.
Probably going back the whole chain of evolution sentient beings needed to survive in the eat-or-be-eaten natural world.
Largely unprotected from the elements – we did not have insulated houses in the Stone Age, and no fire fire to keep the wolves away in the night while we were Neanderthals ; ).
So, survival instinct is baked into our brains, we just did not need to use it very often for a few generations now.
And so i guess, even such a deep extrasensory ability can fall prey to entropy, it will dull and regress if not utilized.
I think instinct is mostly a function connected with the lower three chakras, survival, sex and power.
I am really guessing here, i am no anthropologist or anything for that matter.
Sex … it just makes sense to me in the context of survival (of the species) when i see males (still) tending to be promiscuous (having as many offsprings as possible) and females using their beauty and the feminine seductive qualities to try to get chosen by the alpha males.
Power … we have seen the posturing and blustering of males, young and old, the big cars, the expensive watches, the clunky gold chains of hip hoppers, tattoos, funny gestures and all.
I see here remnants, sometimes really humorous leftovers of instinctive behavior we took over from our animal ancestors.

So, what does this have to do with intuition and inspiration?
Not very much i guess. This is my conclusion so far but i am open to hear some new input from you if you have information about that topic.
Something (my intuition maybe ; ) tells me that instinct may be a very low octave extra-sensory perception, a perception working thru “the belly”, the feet, the connection with the Earth.
Mostly the first chakra.
Whereas intuition may work thru the higher chakras, prominently the sixth Chakra, commonly called Ajna or Third Eye.
Research & discovery into matters of instinct, intuition & inspiration is ongoing ; )
