Just another perfect summer day today

where people shooting other people dead

randomly

Another day

with politicians declaring outrage

or twittering empty, meaningless platitudes

about all that

Just another day

where no serious action or consequence is taken

to make things fundamentally better

Another day

where people’s protest and search for freedom and a better life

leaves them choking from tear gas

or lands them in detention

Just another perfect day

when democracy is drifting, sliding

into autocratic waters

worldwide

Another day

where the powerful do everything

to hang on to their power

and the rich refuse

to share

Its just another day …

… but its a day

where i consider to shut down

to retreat into my own inner world

shut out the noise, the chaos and indifference

of the world out there

Be in Peace with myself

and let the world be what it wants to be

Another day

where i am tempted

not to care

not to feel

not to see

But!

Then it is just another day

where i kick myself in the ass

and again open my eyes wide

to look the world straight in the eye

take it all in

welcome it

feel it

Witness it

Because it is my World

Because it is Me
