I love to go visit certain art galleries, some art museums too.
Not the crowded ones, not the tourist destinations.
Or i go in winter when there is nobody there.
I love the quiet and dedicated space, dimmed lights, hushed conversations, people walking around slowly, people sitting in front of artwork, taking time to contemplate the pieces, let the art in …
let it speak to them …
Now let’s go see some contemporary New Media art.
Lets see some “Algorithmic art”
Ufffff, what’s that supposed to mean?
I mean some creative products of audio-visual “art” that are based on my intentions and those “feelings” are programmed into code and then “the algorithm” is given space and a defined leeway to elaborate on it.
Kind of co-creating with the machine.
So to say ; )
Its also known as “Generative Art”
Nothing completely new, really!
Just now the technology, the programs is awesomely powerful and gives “the artist/programmer” a almost limitless field to play.
The pieces in this gallery are mostly done in TouchDesigner and javascript/processing.
Hope you enjoy!
Try to spend more than 2 seconds at one photo, it pays off! ; )
[ the animations are not optimized for phones, i suggest to watch the the gallery on a good computer or tablet in landscape mode]
[ also headphones would be good, since there is a lot of high- and low-frequency sounds and music driving the animations ]
