My Kindergarden-level view of The Economic ; )

I think that this picture speaks more than a billion words!

I am not a professor for Economix ;  ) , but it seems clear to me, that something is pretty wrong here. Even a Kindergarden child can see that most of us – nations –  are spending much too much, and we finance all of that spending with … going into mind-blowing huge amounts of debt.

From a very guts-level of understanding how all that money business works, i would call this model of life:

>>> not sustainable <<<.

Corona Virus is now accelerating this whole death-march towards the cliff, because governments spend huge amounts of money to keep the system going.

But there is no money coming in.

Because The Machine is more or less on standstill!

Simple solution >>> more borrowing.

I so much hope and pray that this present situation will make people start to think about money and economy and our civilized western way of life > Early 21. Century Free Market Capitalism.

Personally, i have mostly stayed away from this hamster-wheel.

Deeply suspicious of the consumer-oriented life, The-bigger-the-better American Way.

Disgusted actually by the freewheeling ways of Wall Street, of Too-Big-to-Fall Banks, of brokers and traders and the shady world of  hedge-funds and offshore tax heavens and the frantic world of the Stock Exchange.

Driven by >>> greed, the never-ending wish to have more.

And the wheels of industry churn on and churn out what ever we think we need ;  )

?????

Well … what do yu think?

I think we have overdone it a “little bit” with the “bigger is better”, “progress/greed is good”, “the market knows”.

I think its high time to scale back.

Population-wise.

Production-wise.

Exploiting-resources-wise.

Consumption-wise.

Everything-wise ;  )

Scaling back to a human level, to a humane level.

[humane = having or showing compassion, consideration, benevolence, kindheartedness / intended to have a civilizing or refining effect on people]

If scaling back is still possible now on a volunteer basis, on the basis of informed citizenship and response-able governing and politics, then we should do it – already yesterday.
Then we should demand it and we should practice it in our own life and families.

Private helicopter > 2 big fancy cars > one electric car > car pooling > public transport > bicycles > walking is very healthy ;  )

Something like that!

But if volunteer simplicity & scaling back  is not in the books, if humanity’s ego or ignorance or the ruthless influence of the military-industrial complex is too rigid, i guess we will see the “Collapse of the Roman Empire” life on TV anytime soon.

The current Coronavirus outbreak and the upcoming enormous economic fallout are just hints, wakeup calls for sleepwalking humanity.

The message is – i guess – that the Collective Karmic Debt of Humanity has reached epic proportions and can no longer be tolerated.

Things will come in surprising and successively more and more heavy ways to scale back by force what is not done voluntarily and with awareness.

Chaos and disruption and utter destruction and upheaval will surely be on the menu for the next generations to come.

But i deeply believe that scaling back is not only possible, it is actually desirable. It would bring back a humane world, a warmer social climate, a more evenly distributed prosperity and a more happy and fulfilling life.

I have no comprehensive picture or idea of such a monumental task, of how we could get from the current state of affairs to this “enlightened” way to live on Earth in harmony with animals, with nature, with the Earth herself.

It would certainly entail a “going back to the land”, leaving mega-cities for urban areas, planting and growing food again, gardening like in the old days, shifting to smart, plant-based nutrition, learning skills and crafts again and the simple ways of homesteading.

Permaculture gardening, homebuilding, basic skills of living with nature living and survival will need to be added to our sophisticated skillset we have acquired over the recent generation.

Certainly we are in dire need of more advanced knowledge in Community building, consensus decision making and general social skills.

We will also need a loooooot of inner work to be done, getting to know our shadows and fears and the traumas, individually and collectively that keep us stuck in old and unhealthy patterns of behavior.

A completely new curriculum and skillset needs to be taught to our new generations from Kindergarden onward. Intra-personal and inner-personal skills that are not even mentioned nowadays sin the university.

Self healing, mental hygiene, how to deal with emotions, with anxiety, fear and the rest.

How to meditate and still the mind machine.

How to be in contact with our Soul, how to be in comm-union with the Divine.

But hey!

Why not!

Wouldn’t this be a reason to put in our personal efforts, put humanity’s incredible resources and $$$ to good use, put the tremendous ingenuity and innovation of the sciences and the industries to beneficial use for everyone and co-create global solidarity, Earth-centered governing, global thinking, local acting.

Sounds inspiring to me!
