How Record Heat wreaked havoc on 4 continents
One of the most baffling abilities of a human being is the skill of selective perception.
“See only what you want to see”
Believe only what fits into your worldview, reject and deny anything else at all costs, against all logic or common sense …
Declare it “Fake News”.
One such perfect example of this species is the current so-called president of the “Greatest Nation On Earth” which is – by the way – also the greatest emitter of CO2 = greenhouse gasses that led to the present day problems and future unprecedented disasters of global proportions.
But hey! No problem! We can always practice the age old method of putting-our-head-in-the-sand.
Always and again it worked.
And the future generations?
Our children and grandchildren?
Well …
“What shall i do?”, you ask.
“I am powerless against the big boys, Trump, China, Miloš Zeman, India”
I would say, we are not so powerless as we think we are. We just need to stand up and raise our voices, get up from our cozy little ass, our sooo important personal priorities and needs, our busy busy life.
We need to get up and think for the “next seven generations”.
We need to get up and act!
Period.
Because it is already 10 past 12, it is already almost too late to reverse the effects of the changes humans have caused to the Earth Atmosphere.
Personally i believe the best start of any action is always to raise your consciousness, increase your level of awareness and information about the issue at hand.
It is important to act from love for the Earth & all its inhabitants, out of empathy and concern for the future generations rather than from fear and blame.
1. So i guess the first step is to become a informed Citizen of Planet Earth.
The glorious Internet gives us the perfect opportunity to read up and expand our knowledge.
Especially Wikipedia is great, because it is collectively written and edited, so the bias is minimized.

2. Let us raise our voice!
I guess it is not always comfortable for many a friends of yours to talk about such topics as our individual responsibility for this situation. It might confront their coziness with a lifestyle of consumption, political passivity, their general occupation with fulfilling personal needs and wishes .. or simply their laziness to think about things that not directly bother them right now.
I know it can be hard to talk about those things without giving the impression that you are fear-mongering or that you are falling prey to apocalyptic conspiracy theories or that you are simply a lunatic! ; )
But fear not! When the next hurricane comes and destroys their house or the heat wave gets them close to a heart attack, then they will change their minds and listen.
3. Petition your political representatives, Congressmen/women, ministers, presidents, take to the streets, become a climate activist.
Its not the 1970s anymore, but “Activism is cool again!”

4. Take a good look at your own personal life.
A bit of honest self-observation may help to unveil your own tendencies to consume, to take, to exploit, to be unconscious about your choices, to ignore, to put your own wants and needs in front of the needs of the bigger whole and so on.
I guess we don’t need to become ascetic or deny ourself a good life of healthy abundance.
But we always can do that with a higher level of consciousness, with making smarter and more informed choices and generally with a awakened awareness of whats going on all around us.
Look around, look beyond the small borders of your personal existence and this may maybe open your eyes to a new feeling:
Empathy for the Earth and the multitude of Beings on it.
Concern for the wellbeing of strangers and the future generations.
Generosity of giving and contributing instead of taking, consuming and exploiting.
Less is more
To give is to receive
Let us walk lightly upon this precious Earth
She is the only Earth that we have
Let us leave the place more beautiful than we found it
Let us leave no footprints where we go
