Yes sure, the sun is shining.

Sure, now Trump is gone.

For sure we have a vaccine.

And sure, the life goes on.

 

You ask me: “What’s the worry?

Whats the story

that keeps you wake at night?”

“See here”, i say: “I’ll point it out for you.”

Although somewhere inside i hope,

i pray that i’m not right:

@Exponential population growth ***

 

But most of all what keeps me worried:

 

@Science and Technology is progressing at breakneck speed.

@Progress and Development drives the world forward, onward, outward.

But where to?

Whats the plan?

Is there a goal at all?

And if, is it a goal that we all share?

I really really wish there would be a PAUSE button.

I would wish that we all would stop and look and think.

That for a moment we would reflect on where we are

as a species and where we want to go from here

 

I would wish that we recognize that there is no balance

between what we have achieved on the outside

and what we are on the inside

 

I wish we would realize and humbly recognize

that our ethics and our dignity are flawed

and our stated values and our moral codes

don’t balance our need for quick gratification

and that the human ego is ruling here

instead of care for others

the service to the world.
